The last polls in the U.S.Alaska’s don’t close until 1 a.m. Eastern time. but Barack Obama can count on at least 15 votes from Dixville Notch, N.H., which has a 60-year tradition of being first in the nation to vote

The BBC reported that the town opened its polls at midnight, and with a 100 percent turnout, Obama won (in a tally that sounds more like a football score) 15-6 over McCain. It was the first time the town had voted for a Democrat since 1968, when it went for Hubert Humphrey.
