Orange County Republicans didn’t win any seats in the 2010 election, but they did get an office—a physical headquarters.

Greg Andrews, who ran for Orange County commissioner, says the OC GOP hasn’t had a permanent location for as long as anyone can remember, but it desperately needed a place to organize.

He extended the lease from his campaign office, located in Boone Square at 347 Ja-Max Road in Hillsborough, from December through February, to house the OC GOP. Orange County Republicans will pick up the cost in March and will rent the 600-square-foot office at least through December.

“I said if we do not change the box we are operating in here, than in does not appear a Republican can get elected,” Andrews said. “We have to set up shop and be willing to move our cause.”

Andrews says the office will be staffed a couple days a week and in shifts on Saturdays.

“We want this to be our launching point for upcoming events,” he said. “This is what we are going to have to do. We have got to build support and let people know our stands and issues.”

The OC GOP will hold an official welcome breakfast from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday. You can find more details here.
