Ryan Adams is playing in Raleigh: A sentence that once was a mainstay of local music listings has been altogether absent for several years now. But on the heels of a Letterman appearance, his consistently best press in years, and the release of Cold Roses–his finest solo album since 2001’s tender debut Heartbreaker–Adams returns to his musical cradle on Wednesday, June 8 at Meymandi Hall at 8 p.m. Adams’ backing band the Cardinals boasts the inimitable Cindy Cashdollar on steel guitar. Two sets will pull heavily from the new album and Adams’ erratic but extravagant back catalogue. Tickets are $23 in advance or $26 at the door.
