Community United Church of Christ in Raleigh recently created an award named in honor of the wonderful Carolyn and Cy King, who’ve lived lives that literally traced the arc of history — to use Dr. King’s phrase — as they helped it bend toward justice over seven decades. (Carolyn just celebrated her 90th birthday.)
Winners of the Carolyn and Cy King Peace and Justice Award will be chosen on the basis of their trying to make this a better world, as the Kings have, and whether they “embody similar spirits of service and grace.” That could be a very short list.
