More than 50 pieces of original artwork by area sculptors will be on display at Sculpture on the Green (pictured left), part of Chapel Hill’s Apple Chill festival. From 1 p.m to 6 p.m. on April 29 and 30, in McCorkle Place at UNC-Chapel Hill, you can peruse the indoor, outdoor, interactive and installation sculptures, which are also up for public purchase and four $500 merit awards offered by the Chapel Hill Public Arts Commission. The event was modeled after a 15-year-old sculpture festival in Lenoir, N.C. Organizers say that sculptors are coming from as far away as Asheville and Myrtle Beach to show their works at the premiere, which will take place rain or shine.
