If you’re an American Dance Festival insider, you already know the name–and have bought the tickets. For everyone else, Nicholas Leichter‘s edgy recombinations of modern dance with street moves, club dance and hip hop have highlighted more than one ADF faculty concert in recent years. His 1999 Animal was one of the strongest works we saw that summer: sinuous, serpentine, sexual–in a word, funky. His company is at Duke’s Reynolds Theater Wednesday and Thursday nights, March 23 and 24, with a work the Village Voice has called “one sensuous, ever shifting pattern of human need and desire.” Our interview with him is on page 33. Tix are $10-$20, with Duke students in for $5. Call 684-4444.
