Carolina TheatreYou might say George Thorogood, with his radio success in the late ’70s and into the early ’80s, held the door for Stevie Ray Vaughan. Sure, it’s a shame people know his inferior versions of Hank Sr.’s “Move It On Over,” Bo Diddley’s “Who Do You Love” and John Lee Hooker’s “One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer” better than the originals, but at least, one hopes, their estates saw some royalties. His gruff delivery hasn’t changed in 35 years, and he remains a decent guitar player. Lately, Thorogood has branched out to include some entertaining Tex-Mex swing, particularly on 2006’s The Hard Stuff. The $34 show gets licking at 7:30 p.m. See www.carolinatheatre.org. Chris Parker
