Art. Animals. Prizes. While it may sound akin to the fair or Barnum and Bailey, this show will help rescue many of our furry friends from unseemly abuse and abandonment. Chapel Hill’s Turning Point Gallery hosts an art show featuring the works of animal lover and artist Charles George July 25 from 6-9 p.m., with proceeds from the show benefiting the Carnivore Preservation Trust. No funnel cake or tightrope walkers, but you can be sure to walk out of the gallery with warm, philantropic satisfaction and maybe even a prize: There will be a drawing for an 11-by-17-inch framed print of George’s “Hopes for a Tomorrow”; you must be present to win.
