Donald Trump just became the third United States president in history to be impeached by the House of Representatives.

The House voted to charge President Trump with abuse of power and obstruction of congress Wednesday night after lots and lots of evidence shows he pressured Ukrainian officials to dig up dirt on his political rivals. The final vote was 230-197 for abuse of power and 229-198 on obstruction (Maine Representative Jared Golden split his ticket.)

Trump now joins Presidents Bill Clinton and Andrew Johnson as the only presidents ever to fuck up this badly (Nixon resigned before he was impeached). He also scored the most “yes” votes for impeachment ever: What a legacy.

In a not-so-shocking vote along party lines, North Carolina Democrats David Price, G. K. Butterfield and Alma Adams voted to impeach the President while spineless Republican cronies Dan Bishop, Ted Budd, Virginia Foxx, George Holding, Richard Hudson, Patrick McHenry, Greg Murphy, David Rouzer, Mark Walker, and Mark Meadows voted to back their cult leader.

Here’s what some of them had to say about it:

Today will be remembered as the day your House Democrat majority voted to impeach President @realDonaldTrump for a crime they couldn’t find and a case they couldn’t prove.

You won’t forget. And neither will we.

The moment our founders anticipated in establishing the power of impeachment has arrived.

I just cast my vote against both articles of impeachment. With pride.

— Dan Bishop (@jdanbishop) December 19, 2019

I’m voting against impeaching President @realDonaldTrump today for a very simple reason: House Democrats didn’t prove their case.

They didn’t even come close.

— Ted Budd (@RepTedBudd) December 18, 2019

As a United States Congresswoman, I have a responsibility to #DefendOurDemocracy and uphold the constitution, and I will continue to do just that.

— Alma S. Adams (@RepAdams) December 19, 2019

Trump, strangely enough, hasn’t tweeted in three hours .(he’s busy incoherently ranting at a rally in Michigan). The last totally-sane thing he had to say on the matter was this:

— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) December 18, 2019

The rally is going really well, apparently:

Trump says that you used to press a dishwasher once and it was an “explosion” and five minutes later steam would come out. “Now you press it 12 times. Women tell me.”

Women tell me.

  1. The Do-Nothing-Democrats impeached, along party lines, one of the best presidents this country has seen. Almost three years after being inaugurated, he has accomplished most of his campaign promises. Had Congress worked with him, all would be a thing of the past. Now, we will just have to wait until after the re-election in Nov.
The economy is booming, unemployment is at historical lows, the stock Market is soaring, it’s going to be Trump again in 2020.
