Good morning, readers.
Eross Guadalupe, with his trademark Durham flag-inspired bike jersey and Visayan-heritage arm sleeve tattoo, is an unmistakable fixture of the Bull City cycling community.
If you’ve participated in any of the popular group rides in Durham, you’ve certainly been shepherded by Guadalupe, with his ear-to-ear grin and enthusiasm for inviting folks into the cycling community. Guadalupe himself didn’t buy his first bike until he moved to Durham from Long Island in 2014, and relied on new friends he made early-on to show him the ropes.
Now he’s looking to pay it forward.
“I really wanted to do that for other people. So when I find a new shortcut, or a new bike boulevard, or new bike lanes like on Miami Boulevard, I want to take people there because it’s good for folks to know how to get around safely.”
