Good morning, readers.

ICE is reportedly leasing a new office space on Regency Parkway near Koka Booth Amphitheatre in Cary, according to a WIRED article published mid-February that cites federal government memos from last year.

INDY hasn’t been able to independently confirm WIRED’s reporting. The Regency Parkway address appears on a list of federally owned and leased properties, but an ICE spokesperson would not confirm the agency is using the building.

Local activists and community groups also haven’t verified ICE’s presence at the office, but they’re troubled by the reports. A petition opposing the reported lease has collected 1,200 signatures, and residents are planning to voice opposition to ICE at Mayor Harold Weinbrecht’s State of the City address next week.

Read more below, and have a good weekend.
