Law enforcement agents yesterday arrested a Durham woman in connection with her toddler’s death last year, in an incident that was ruled a homicide.
Melanie Lashay Battle, 22, was charged with murdering her 15-month-old daughter, Tameya Rodgers.
The child died as a result of blunt force trauma, according to the medical examiner’s report.
Battle was arrested by the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office, and is being held without bond, according to the Durham Police Department.
