Today, the Full Frame Documentary Film Festival announced the lineup for its twenty-second annual outing, which will be held in Durham April 4–7 and features eighty-three documentaries, including sixty-seven new works.

This year, the Tribute program honors Steven Bognar and Julia Reichert, whose award-winning documentary American Factory, about the culture clash that occurs when a Chinese billionaire opens a glass factory in Ohio, will kick off the festival. The tribute also includes eight more films, many of them also focusing on labor, by the duo, who curated Full Frame’s Thematic program in 2010.

This year’s Thematic program is curated by RaMell Ross, a Full Frame veteran and the director of last year’s Oscar-nominated Hale County This Morning, This Evening. Like that doc, Ross’s program, titled “Some Other Lives of Time,” explores “poetic modes of storytelling” and features films such as Chris Marker’s La Jetée and Godfrey Reggio’s Koyaanisqatsi.

Meanwhile, the Invited program features docs on subjects from Aretha Franklin and Dr. Ruth to Miles Davis and Toni Morrison. Check out the full lineup on Full Frame’s site and purchase tickets here.
