Hat tip to Carpe Durham, which tweeted this morning that DaisyCakes is closing its cafe on Foster Street on Friday, Aug. 21.
However, owner Tanya Matta is looking for a downtown spot to open a dessert room, which, as she says in her farewell statement, is her passion.
In its place? Rise Biscuits & Donuts, which is expanding its empire to downtown from its mothership near Southpoint.
This is great news for those downtown denizens who’ve missed Monuts Donuts since it moved to Ninth Street.
