October is officially “Ashley Christensen Bad Ass Month.”
Mayor Nancy McFarlane honored Christensen with an official proclamation at the city council’s first meeting since the election, which resulted in the ouster of three incumbents and the election of Mary-Ann Baldwin as mayor.
Christensen was recognized as the James Beard Outstanding Chef this year for her unique twist on southern comfort food. Her newest restaurant, Poole’side Pies, opened earlier this fall on McDowell Street. She also owns Poole’s, Death & Taxes, Beasley’s Chicken & Honey, Fox Liquor Bar and Chuck’s.
