Saint James Seafood has been closed since its building was damaged in the tragic April gas explosion that killed two people and injured many others. The restaurant is planned to reopen next month. But you can get a taste early if you hit the right Durham spots in December.
For the rest of the month, a smattering of beloved Saint James menu items will be on sale at Matt Kelly’s other restaurants. Lucky’s Delicatessen has the Maine lobster roll ($23). Vin Rouge has the crab dip ($15). Mateo has the Aguachile with North Carolina flounder ($12). And of course, Mothers & Sons has the squid-ink pasta with octopus ($14).
The Saint James dishes sneaked onto the respective menus on Wednesday, and will be available each day in December until they sell out.
