The title of Circuit Des Yeux’s latest record, Reaching for Indigo, reminds me of the devastating prose poetry of Maggie Nelson’s Bluets. Nelson writes of love and loss with stirring poignancy, framed around a love of the color blue. As Circuit Des Yeux, Haley Fohr touches on other moving themes through mysterious, mesmerizing songs. Tracks like “Paper Bag” match electronic dappling with patient rock rhythms. The centerpiece of Fohr’s songs, however, is her deep, resonant voice, which is unlike any other. In the middle of the bill is guitarist Marisa Anderson, whose rapturous compositions feel like hazy instrumental mirages. Her last record, 2016’s Into the Light, was an imagined soundtrack for a fictitious sci-fi western, and her forthcoming Cloud Corner feels like an oasis of rippling calm. The Nathan Bowles Trio opens.
