Good morning, sunshine. Having trouble prying yourself out of bed as fall settles in? We’ve got the remedy in concentrated capsule form: “Lingo” is a blast of dewy radiance from COLONY, the new album by Raleigh-based electronic producer and songwriter FootRocket, which drops via Raund Haus on November 1.
Though he’s known to tussle with modern chassis like footwork, his reference points on “Lingo” are pristinely classic, kissing the edge of disco and then scurrying back into the realms of ‘80s crossover and filter house. Think Daft Punk does Deee-Lite, or actually, don’t think. Just listen—it’ll be the springiest, most vivacious two minutes and forty-one seconds of your day.
COLONY is FootRocket’s second Raund Haus album, following To the Moon. In addition to streaming “Lingo” below, you can also hear the lead single, a more songwriterly turn called “Happy,” courtesy of Raund Haus today, before the album drops on Friday.
