WARNING: This Best Bet contains imagery not suitable for children. If David Cronenberg’s Crash turned you on, well, have we got the show for you. With Anatomy of an Auto Accident, the A/V Geeks this week take a peek at one of the most infamous genres of the school film–the Driver’s Education flick. These films’ producers attempted to scare the hell out of drivers by showing them the gruesome results of careless driving. Many of these celluloid classics contain grotesque examples of what happens when metal crunches into metal at high speeds. Viewers should be warned that this show contains footage of actual mangled metal and twisted flesh: not suitable for children or the squeamish. See them Thursday, March 21, at 8 p.m. at LUMP gallery in Raleigh (call 821-9999 for details) and Friday March 22, at 8 p.m. at the Center for Documentary Studies in Durham (call 660-3663 for details).
