An arraignment has been set Monday, Feb. 14, 2011, for Jose Alfredo Lopez Ponce and Juan Antonio Lopez Ponce, owners and operators of J&A Framers & Carpentry, Inc. The brothers were indicted Dec. 14 on charges including smuggling, harboring and recruiting immigrants to work at their Durham-based business.
On Dec. 21, Magistrate Judge William A. Webb released the Lopezes on $200,000 bond each and on the condition that they can’t leave Durham County without prior authorization from their parole officer.
The Lopezes will appear in federal court before Chief Judge Louise Wood Flanagan.
