Since settling in North Carolina seven years ago, photographer David Simonton has documented the rustic byways and abandoned spaces of a steadily suburbanizing state. Seven of his photographs are currently on view in the Contemporary North Carolina Photography from the Museum’s Collection exhibition at the North Carolina Museum of Art, which runs through Feb. 18. On Sunday, Feb. 11 at 2 p.m., Simonton will discuss his work in a free lecture at the museum.
