Growing up as a Jew in Morocco, musician Emil Zrihan studied and became proficient in both the Arab Andalusian vocal traditions and in performing Jewish sacred music. When he’s not touring the world, Zrihan is a lead soloist for the Israeli Ensemble Andaluz of Andoz and is also a cantor at an Israeli synagogue in the city of Ashkelon. In concert, he’ll be bringing an ensemble to perform on both Arab and African instruments in a delightful mix of musical traditions. He’ll be appearing this Thursday, April 18, 8 p.m., at Duke’s Page Auditorium. Call 684-4444 for details. —Angie Carlson
