Durham County Commissioners decided at work session yesterday to put the proposed animal tethering ordinance on their agenda for Sept. 8. You can read it here: proposed tethering ordinance amendments.
The Indy has extensively covered the issue, including a lengthy and emotional public hearing last week at which more than 70 people spoke in favor of banning the unattended tethering in Durham County. About a half-dozen opponents of the ordinance also spoke, but at least two of them were from outside the county.
Next week’s Commissioner’s meeting begins at 7 p.m. at 200 E. Main St.
