Whether they’re slammed or slow, the kitchen staff of Piedmont Restaurant in Durham keeps up the chatter with one another as the night wears on. During one of these nights, the youngest employee, Jared “The Kid” Dalby, proclaimed that he could eat more buffalo chicken wings than anyone else in the kitchen. There was a serious difference of opinion; and that is how four employees, including co-owner Andy “Mag Wheels” Magowan, found themselves each facing a pile of 50 chicken wings. It was after-hours and someone would have to walk the walk, or at least crawl out the door victorious.
