The Bush administration and Attorney General John Ashcroft have defined homeland security to mean neighbors spying on neighbors and fences around reservoirs and nuclear power plants. But we think real homeland security means a lot more than that–good jobs, clean air and water, health care for everyone, and government in the public rather than the corporate interest.
