Despite a dark, blustery start to the weekend, the tenth annual Hopscotch Music Festival charged forward. On Thursday, Sleater-Kinney debuted new drummer Angie Boylanย in the band’s first show since Janet Weiss quit (the consensus: S-K still shreds). On Friday, Arts Editor Brian Howe lost himself in the metamorphic density of James Blake, while the Triangle’sย Jooselord and Pat Junior brought it homeโand gained some national interestโwith a set at Neptune’s.
Elsewhere, INDY photographer Jade Wilson captured Jenny Lewis’s shimmering City Plaza set, Asheville’s Faye Webster at Red Hat, and all the fans, love,ย leopard-printย in between. We’re onto night three, but see below for shots from the first two days.
