Since the February release of Tides of a Teardrop, Mandolin Orange’s sixth release, Emily Frantz and Andrew Marlin have kept up a busy clip of appearances, navigating an international tour and life as new parents at once. On June 1, the Chapel Hill folk duo kicks off another tour. The four-month jaunt will begin in Virginia and end in Cary; in between, the band is slated to play dates on the East and West Coast, as well as in the Midwest, with a range of guests, including the Fruit Bats, Anaïs Mitchell, and Mountain Man.

The first show will take place at the Blue Ridge Mountain Center in Galax, Virginia, where the band will share the stage with the Winston-Salem Symphony’s Chamber Orchestra, which will begin the evening with a special performance of Aaron Copeland’s Appalachian Spring.
