Democratic presidential candidate and Very Rich Person Tom Steyer is holding meet-and-greets in Durham and Raleigh this Saturday, if you are bored and/or are looking for a rich person to eat.

His “Brunch Meet and Greet” in Durham starts at 10:45 a.m., at the N.C. Central School of Law. From there, he will stop by McDougald Terrace, the site of a recently recognized public health crisis

Following his Durham talk, Steyer will head straight to Raleigh to speak to folks at the DoubleTree on Hillsborough Street. The meet-and-greet there will begin at 5:30 p.m.

A recent Fox News poll showed Steyer in second place in South Carolina behind Biden; while everyone else been focused on Iowa and New Hampshire, he’s been dropping millions of dollars on TV ads in the state. Nationally, he polls at 4 percent among Democratic primary voters, trailing Biden, Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, Pete Buttigieg, and the primary’s other Very Rich White Man Who Will Save Us All, Michael Bloomberg.

Steyer also lags behind the top five in trips to North Carolina: Counting Bloomberg’s January 3 visit, all top-five candidates have made stops in the Tar Heel state, from Charlotte to Goldsboro. Steyer plans to visit Goldsboro this weekend and heads to Charlotte for a town hall on January 17.

The two meet-and-greets will have free food and drink. You can register for the Durham meet and greet here, and the Raleigh one here. Or you can do literally anything else with your Saturday.
