The Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina will try to raise funds and have fun at the same time on Friday, Sept. 26, as part of #FoodBank24: A New Media Telethon. It may be more accurate to call it a Computerthon because the event is streaming for 24 hours straight at foodbank24.org beginning at noon that day.

Activities aren’t strictly confined to the online world though. Parts of the telethon will highlight happenings at the Raleigh branch of the food bank, located at 3808 Tarheel Drive. Festivities there include appearances by the Carolina Rollergirls and the Carolina Railhawks, yoga and dancing so you can actually take part instead of just watching at home.

This is the third time for #Foodbank24—the first two raised a total of $80,000, the equivalent of 400,000 meals, for families in need.
