When the coronavirus pandemic hit North Carolina, Gabrielle Eitienne, Derrick Beasley, and Gerald Harris birthed their idea for a platform to support and sustain Black farmers: Tall Grass Food Box. Consumers place their orders for fresh boxes of produce; every two weeks, Tall Grass sets up outside of NorthStar Church of the Arts so they can pick them up.
