As it is, the luminous folk/roots music of Tres Chicas can light up a room. But if lovely harmonies were electricity, the Chicas could illuminate the entire Triangle. The busy members of Tres Chicas–Glory Fountain’s Lynn Blakey, Yep Roc solo artist Caitlin Cary, and Tonya Lamm of Hazeldine–are getting together on Saturday, March 13, to headline a show at Cat’s Cradle to benefit the Community Independent School in North Chatham County (www.cisnc.com). Also on the bill are locals the Brown Mountain Lights (whose live Late Show at the Cave “delivers a satisfying mix of bluegrass, honky-tonk, blues, twangpop, and folk-rock,” according to a Silas House review in the latest No Depression magazine) and Americana singer-songwriter Emily Waszak. The show starts at 8 p.m., and tickets are $10.
