In his interview today with “The View,” John McCain continued to lie about the Bridge to Nowhere, and stood by two ads that are “misleading and factually inaccurate,” AP reports. The wire report, which counters several of McCain’s lies with good old fashioned facts, is perhaps the news agency’s most scathing assessment of the McCain-Palin campaign–and it’s a straight news article. Will newspapers run it? (Yesterday, the N&O, which subscribes to the AP wire, gave the front-page treatment to a sympathetic thumbsucker over a more critical analysis by the same agency, which it ran online.)
McCain said he had chosen Palin because she would help to reform Washington, specifically cited curbing federal spending for earmarks. When pressed about Palin’s record of requesting and accepting such money for Alaska, McCain ignored the record and said, “Not as governor she didn’t.”
