Local 506Catskills songwriter A.A. Bondy used to call Alabama and the Merge Records punk-ish pop band Verbena home. But he headed north long ago, marrying into the Felice Brothers (his wife is Clare Felice) and redirecting his sound into elemental Americana released under his own name. If the story sounds familiar, Bondy did, in fact, spend much of 2008 touring with Raleigh ex-pat Bon Iver. His muse seems to be the combined quest for personal and national salvationthat is, for one to live better so the other can get better, and vice versa. The Dogwood Deddy opens at 9:30 p.m. for $8.
