THE RESERVOIRSanford’s Dr. Powerful surrounds nuggets of melody with spiky post-punk push, like drummer Eddie Watkins’ former band Polvo relaxing and revealing a dose of jangle just beneath the drive. Gainesville’s Dirty Money takes Social Distortion cues of simplicity and meets them with growling vocals that lock into anthems. You’ll want to sing along, even though you won’t know the words.
