The two-night celebration of Guitartown, a popular Internet music-discussion group that’s celebrating its fifth anniversary, is being billed as the Guitartown Rock ‘n’ Roll Revue, but it could just as easily be called Chip Fest. Expatriate Raleigh-ite Chip Robinson (who moved to New York City a few months back) is both a list favorite and a list member, and he’ll kick off the festivities at the Pour House Music Hall with a solo set on Friday night and then play again on Saturday night with his special-occasions-only outfit The Vibe Killers . Robinson and company’s crackling energy is matched by their superb taste in covers, as they’ve been known to tackle songs by everybody from Matthew Ryan and Prince to the Ramones and Modern Lovers (and, of course, the Backsliders). The rest of the Rock ‘n’ Roll Revue line-up consists of popular locals ( Tres Chicas , the Bleeding Hearts , the Cartridge Family , the Olympic Ass-Kicking Team , and Patty Hurst Shifter ), honorary locals (Columbus, Ohio’s Two Cow Garage plays the Triangle so often we should go ahead and set up cots for them at Sadlack’s), and new Yep Roc signees Marah , a roots-soul-glam band that’s at the top of their game these days. Tickets are $15 per night, and you can see who’s playing when at www.the-pour-house.com . Doors open at 7 p.m., music starts at 8 p.m.
